Bill Miera, President and CEO of Fiore Industries, believes in corporate and personal responsibilities to the surrounding community. Bill has been giving back to his community since his college days (20 some years ago) by providing unpaid tutoring, working with the Hispanic Engineering Organization to raise scholarship money and visit middle-schools to encourage kids to attend college.
Bill is one of the co-founders of the NM Chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and is a board member of the New Mexico 8(a) Association along with the chairing the High Technology Sub-Committee, the United States Hispano Chamber of Commerce, the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, Professional Aerospace Contractors Association of NM (PACA), Adelante Development Center and Sandia National Laboratories Supplier Community Advisory Board (SCAC.)
Bill has formed an action committee at Fiore to oversee community outreach programs. This includes charitable contributions to All Faiths Receiving Home, Cuidando Los Ninos, New Mexico Special Olympics, MADD, Make-A-Wish Foundation, UNICEF, United Way, to name just a few. One of the most interesting things we participate in for charity is the Mudd Volleyball Tournament which raises money for the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation for Children. In addition, Fiore sponsors or participates in food and clothing drives, encourages employees to participate in programs such as Habitat for Humanity, School to the World, among many others. Fiore also provides judges (and prizes) to the New Mexico Regional Science Fair for high school juniors and seniors and helps with the University of New Mexico's Engineering Day.
